CII-EXIM Bank Award
TCIL has bagged Commendation Certificate for
Strong Commitment to TQM of CII-EXIM Bank Award category. Mr. B. L. Raina, MD, TCIL
received this ward on Tuesday, the 4th of November 2003, during the Inaugural
Session of the 11th Quality Summit at the Indian Institute of Science (Tata Auditorium),
Bangalore.
This Award for Business Excellence, instituted
jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industry and Export Import Bank of India in the
Year 1994, is the most prestigious award in India for Business Excellence that an Indian
company can receive.
The Award was established to promote the
awareness of business excellence as an increasingly important element in competitiveness.
Not only does it recognize excellent business, the Award also increases the understanding
of the elements critical for business excellence. To accomplish this, the Award promotes
information sharing of successful performance strategies and the benefits derived from
pursuing these strategies.
There are four levels of recognition, starting
from the commendation certificate for strong commitment and going up to the award. These
levels are:
CII-EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence is
presented to the organization judged to be best prize winner and a ‘Role Model’
of excellence in management in India.
Prizes are awarded in each category to
Organizations that demonstrate excellence in the management of Quality as their
fundamental process for continuous improvement – the leaders in their respective
category.
Commendation certificates are given to
organizations which have made good progress on their journey of TQM but fall short of the
level of excellence set for Prize Winners. There are two levels of commendation
certificates.
- significant achievement on the journey towards Business
Excellence.
- strong commitment to Total Quality Management on the journey
towards Business Excellence. (This level is lower than the achievement level).
