The Hooghly Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) conducted a competition on 'Best Practices in Industrial Relations' on 19.7.2007 at Kolkata. TCIL was represnted by Mr. D.K. Singh, Vice-President, The Golmuri Tinplate Workers' Union and, Mr. James Dvais, Chief (HRM). TCIL bagged the 2nd position.

The Award was given away by Mr. Manabendra Mukherjee, Hon'ble Minister- in-Charge, Cottage & Small Scale Industries and Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal, on 29.9.2007 during the AGM of HCCI at Taj Bengal, Kolkata.
