The Company initiated the TPM activities in the
year 2002 under the guidance of Mr. T. Watanabe, TPM Consultant from JIPM. In the beginning, two Manager Model Machines were taken up to institutionalize TPM culture. After successful completion of the Manager Model Machine, TPM was kicked-off on 5th May, 2003. TCIL launched all the eight pillars in succession e.g. Jishu Hozen, Kobetsu Kaizen, Planned Maintenance, Education & Training, Safety, Health & Environment, Quality Maintenance, Initial Flow Control and Office TPM. TCIL challenged the TPM Excellence Award in 2004 and underwent preliminary and final audit which finished on 5th October, 2005. It was declared successful for
TPM Excellence Award Category-I after the Final Audit.
